Washington DC Neighborhoods: Trinidad

Trinidad is a neighborhood in Northeast Washington, D.C. and is a largely residential area, and much of it is within walking distance of the New York Avenue-Florida Avenue-Gallaudet U Metro station on the Red Line.

Many of the row houses are flat porch-fronted houses, built in the craftsman style that gained popularity during the 1920s. This is a historically working class neighborhood, with a large deaf student population from Gallaudet University. While the area had fallen on hard times in the past, in recent years, gentrification efforts have been successful. Many homes are being renovated; real estate prices are on the rise, and new businesses moving in. Within walking distance of the DC Farmer's market, Trinidad is a desirable and affordable neighborhood on the upswing in Washington DC.
