Michele Buckman has put together some videos discussing the current DC market and what the future may hold for the real estate market in the Washington DC area.
One of Washington DC’s most breathtaking sites is Rock Creek Park. The park itself contains nearly 1,754 acres and is nearly twice the size of New York City’s Central Park. The park was established by Congress in 1890 and is one of the nation’s oldest national parks.
Rock Creek Park is home to a variety of sites including the Battleground National Cemetery, Meridian Hill Park, Montrose Park, and Dumbarton Oaks Park, the Old Stone House, and Peirce Mill. The recreation facilities include a golf course, equestrian trails, sports venues, a planetarium, outdoor concert venue, and playground facilities. Rock Creek is a popular venue for joggers and cyclist. This is due in large part to the winding and scenic routes weaving throughout the park. Rock Creek and Potomac parkway, which runs the length of the Potomac River in the north-south direction, is located in the park as well. Due to its location, the parkways are maintained by the National Park Service and are on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway are of the best-preserved examples of our nation’s early highway system.
This spring take advantage of Rock Creek Park and what is has to offer. The park is considered the gem of our nation’s capital and offers visitors and residence of Washington DC the unique opportunity to experience the beauty of nature while living in a major metropolitan city.
