Michele Buckman has put together some videos discussing the current DC market and what the future may hold for the real estate market in the Washington DC area.
With spring on its way a couple things are certain; the Washington D.C. metropolitan area can look forward to a busy season filed with the blooming of cherry blossoms, and a host of outdoor activities. Traditionally spring, for the real estate community, is a time for large inventory available for sale as well as property purchases. With the current state of today's Washington DC real estate market, this will not be the case. If you fall in love with a condo in Dupont Circle or a house in Chevy Chase in February, it would be foolish to wait until April because someone told you the best time to buy is in the spring. With the current market conditions in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, that property will be sold if you wait until April.
When deciding on the best time to buy, a potential buyer must be aware of certain variables. Traditionally, a buyer would first find a property then look for the appropriate financing. In today's market, you will need to find a loan program that you quality for and can afford before you find your dream property. Once you have secured the loan then, and only then, will you be ready to seek out the property you desire. Although the Washington D.C. real estate market is currently impulsive, one thing is for certain, when you find a place that you love at a price that works for you, do not hesitate, make an offer.
